The Journey

Hi, Friends!

I know, I just created my other site and here I am creating a new one. Typical me, wanting to start new all.the.damn.time, BUT I actually have a reason for it this time. Over the last few months, I’ve been able to travel to some pretty amazing places, learn from people who share my passions and figure out a little bit more of what my path looks like for becoming a Nutritionist. I’m super excited about it to say the least!

My last blog I focused on Paleo eating, specifically when traveling because I am on the road most of my life. I enjoy blogging about my Paleo-ish dining experiences, but I find that I want to talk about so much more than just Paleo.

Day-to-day, people ask me so many questions about nutrition and I constantly feel like I don’t have enough time to fully explain an idea before we are saying good-bye. That’s why I created this blog! I want to help people on their nutrition journey no matter where they are with their eating habits. I know for me, I didn’t wake up one day and decide to eat Paleo and live a holistic lifestyle, it was a long journey… and I’m still on it! I find that all too often, once we get far enough along in our journey, we forget the struggle that it took for us to get to where we are.

As my friends and family know, my passion for nutrition and Paleo stems from a life-long battle with stomach issues. Over time, being sick took a toll on my passions. I no longer enjoyed eating and traveling was significantly less fun. I started dabbling in Paleo eating here and there in 2012, but it didn’t really take root until I did my first Whole30 a few years ago when I moved to Washington, D.C., where I currently live.  Since then, I have learned so much about what works for my body. It’s been such a freeing experience, and I want to help others find that too.

I am currently in the Air Force and a Certified Whole30 Coach.  Next Spring, I start classes at the University Of D.C. to start working towards becoming a Registered Dietician. It’s definitely scary starting my life over at the age of 29, but I know this is what I’m meant to do!

Excited to share what I learn along my journey!

  1. Hi Kate, I was drawn to your blog at the apparent and genuine passion and interest you have for nutrition! I can’t wait to read more of your blog posts. I’m actually based in Washington D.C. but go to school in New Jersey. I come back to the D.C. area for school breaks and love spending time with my family. Do you have any suggestions for healthy places to eat or go in this area? xoxo Steph
